Shadow Hoodie

The Shadow Hoodie is a lightweight, wind-resistant, close fitting fleece utilising Polartec Wind Pro® fabric and Hardface Technology.

The Shadow Hoodie is low bulk and cut to fit comfortably with a harness making it a great mid layer to wear when climbing. The low bulk hood fits easily under a helmet and the long sleeves and thumb loops provide great movement and protection when reaching for holds.

Polartec Wind Pro® provides wind-resistant and water-resistant protection in a durable and quiet design with maximum stretch and movement. The addition of Polartec's Hardface® Technology (a 'surface-fusion polymer application' no less . . !) adds extra water resistance, increases abrasion resistance and creates a smooth face for easier layering applications.

The fact that Polartec Wind Pro® doesn't use a membrane ensures that it is still incredibly breathable whilst being 4 times more wind-resistant than standard fleece - so perfect for active pursuits in all conditions.

    The perfect mid layer. Can feel strong icy cold winds blowing through it, but with a warm baselayer underneath anything else will be stopped. Does not restrict movement in any way, and fits very well under a climbing harness. Also easily accomodates a shell or insulated jacket on top of it.

    Fantastic item, used it as a third (outer) layer trekking up to Yalung Base Camp in Nepal (Rolwaling) at 5000 metres very comfortably.

    Fantastic item of clothing....very warm and doesn't let any wind through the windpro fabric. Can't wait til winter when I can test it to its extremes!

    A little weighty but a great thermal for everyday use. It feels durable and is thick enough to stop gusts from breaking through and adding a chill to your journey.
    The hood is very tight fitting and snug, so it works well in conjunction with hardshells and additional layering.

    Again the only thing I've seen wrong with it, is weight. But it's performance exceeds those extra grams.

    Fantastic Fleece! Water resistant, wind proof, warm, stretchy, breathable and light weight all in 1 undrestated feature packed jacket. Hood fits snug and easily under helmet, pockets double as vents & thumb loops are great. You need this product in your life!

    I love my Mountain Equipment Shroud Jacket, but now I have a new favourite fleece! The Rab Shadow Hoodie is an amazing piece of kit. Great fit, great versatility, great durability, great colours and great price! It's so snug you won't take it off.

    Excellent product at a fair price. I have used the Shadow Hoodie for over 50 miles of hiking across Dartmoor in all kinds of weather for the last couple of months now and I can say that it fits very well and is extremely comfortable with a great hood and has kept me warm and dry, I only have to pull out my waterproof for the heaviest of downpours, it is lightweight and packs down small. A must have for all occasions

    I purchased my Shadow Hoodie just before this freezing winter and wore it on my day to day activities throughout the extreme(for this country) weather.
    At times i was outside in -10celcius conditions with just a tshirt underneath, ok i was cold but not uncomfortable. They look good on aswell.
    New colours out now so may have to buy another one.

    Awesome fleece hoodie! Found it at Eastern Mountain Sports in the US. Upon picking it up and looking it over I was really impressed with the precise stitching and quality fabrics and zippers. I bought it, and was very impressed with the performance. Warm with just a long sleeve shirt under it on a windy day with temps around 30-40F. High front zips are great - out of the way of harness. Sleeves are made long to allow use with thumbloops and keep from riding up when reaching. Really like the Marin color. Medium fits my 5'11", 160lb frame perfectly.
